Dear loyal Bobcat and SANY customers
And, just like that, it was (almost) over! 2018 is rapidly drawing to a close, and I’m sure we all look eagerly forward to spending some well-deserved time off with our families.
What a year it’s been! Essentially, 2018 in South Africa has been a year of polar opposites, with both good news and disappointing news seemingly the order of the day. On the whole, though, we at SANY/Bobcat remain optimistic about the future of this great country. We keenly await the 2019 elections, after which we think that meaningful change will begin to emerge. So it may be a long, hard road ahead, fraught with many challenges, but at least our country is no longer charging over the edge of the abyss as we seemed to be prior to December 2017.
In the midst of all this uncertainty, the one thing that remains consistent is SANY/Bobcat’s commitment to excellence. Are we there yet? No. Will we ever get there? Probably not. After all, ‘excellence’ implies absolutely no slip-ups or dropped catches – something that I’ve yet to see in any business, in any part of the world. But a commitment to excellence is key, as this will bring us ever-closer to perfection.
On this note, I’d like to thank my wonderful, committed team, who have pulled together so tightly this year to ensure that we continue along our march towards excellence. We’ve filled critical posts and, importantly, replaced staff where we thought we were weak. In particular, we have made some excellent changes and appointments within our aftermarket team, in recognition of the fact that this is the most important aspect of our business. A great business, after all, is about having the best people. And this is our relentless task: We shall not stop until we have the best possible people in each role in our business. Without this, how can we possibly strive for greatness?
In closing, I would like to thank all of you, our loyal customers, for your support for both the Bobcat and SANY brands this year. We do appreciate the business you give us. Without you, quite frankly, we wouldn’t have a business. We understand that there are options out there, and so we are always grateful when you choose to work with us.
I wish you all of the very best over the Festive Season. Have fun and relax and, most importantly, enjoy the time that you spend with your loved ones. After all, this is the most precious time of all!
