Customers Spoilt for Choice With Bobcat’s Flexible Rental Solution

Business decisions are made every day and making the right decisions is the mainstay of any lucrative operation. “With rapidly escalating costs, the bottom line is top of mind when making sound financial decisions and being well informed is crucial to any good decision making process,” says Michael Burns, National Sales & Marketing Manager at Bobcat Equipment South Africa Pty Ltd.

Bobcat, part of the Goscor group of companies, is a leading supplier of best-in-class rugged compact machines to the local market on a sales and rental basis. According to Burns, “Our sales and rental packages are as flexible as the Bobcat machines themselves, each offering its own unique benefits which help our customers in making the right decision whether to rent or buy. Close inspection of our customers’ individual needs also puts us in a perfect position to recommend the best and most sustainable solutions.”

The rental packages include the comprehensive equipment range including Bobcat skid steer loaders, wheel loaders, telescopic handlers, excavators as well as Ausa rough terrain forklifts. “We offer short, medium and long term contracts of up to three years with the option to renew the rental agreement or buy the machine so there is a rental package to suit each customer’s unique requirement,” says Burns.
Rental is becoming a more feasible option in today’s tough economic climate where a large capital outlay adds to the challenge of keeping a healthy bottom line, especially within the construction and agricultural sectors.

Rental is fast, simple and convenient; the rental machine is delivered to site, ready to work immediately with a qualified Bobcat SETA-certified operator who is familiar with the machine. “No time is wasted on operator training so the job gets done safely and at maximum efficiency. Once the job is completed, the unit is collected,” explains Burns, adding that this eliminated the need for storage for rental customers who require the machines on a seasonal basis.

Highlighting some of the financial advantages offered by rental, Burns says that there are no deposits, no interest charges and no insurance costs. “As rental offers a new source of funding, existing credit facilities are not affected and long term rentals offer an inflation hedge. In addition to improved liquidity, profitability and solvency ratios, renting also has a number of positive tax implications. It is fully tax deductible because is considered an operating expense.”

“Always sympathetic to end users’ budget constraints, we have structured our payments in accordance with the economic life span of the equipment which leads me to operational costs. Bobcat equipment is renowned for rugged reliability and high performance but downtime is sometimes unavoidable, yet it can be kept to a minimum. Apart from the obvious expenses directly related to maintenance and parts, downtime and unproductivity are where the more serious cost implications lie. With our rental packages, there are no service, maintenance or repair costs for the end user. In the event of a breakdown of a rental machine, our qualified technicians based at our countrywide network of well-appointed branches are on standby 24/7. If we cannot repair the unit within an hour, we will replace it,” explains Burns. “We also supply the machine with a full tank of fuel, which, with today’s record high fuel prices is a definite value add.”

In closing, Burns says, “All the responsibilities surrounding the rental machines rest with us, giving our customers complete peace of mind so that they can focus on their core business.”

Bobcat compact equipment will be on display at bauma Africa 2013 – stands 321 (Hall 5) and C61 (outside).
